Coquena Torrontes 2018
Exceptional Torrontes
“Fragrant aromas of lemon, tropical, and floral notes lead to a ripe, rich, vibrant style of Torrontes that will provide much pleasure over the next 12-18 months. It is an outstanding value.” Robert Parker.
THE LEGEND OF COQUENA
A Pagan shepherd god and the protector of vicunas and guanacos of the northern native Argentinian tribes. Legend tells that when the herds are moving together if you hear a whistle in the wind, it is Coquena the god guiding the herds to better
pastures. Whoever attempts to interrupt or hunt them will suffer the wrath of Coquena.
Marcos Etchart presents this Torrontes fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts and a 4-hour maceration.
Fresh and fruity wine, with a distinctly floral and refreshing acidity. It has primary aromas of Muscatel pulp and orange blossom, very varietal and expressive. The palate is spicy and fresh, with a bitter twist on the finish.
Pair It
Best served between 6° – 8° C, this Torrontes is a perfect pair with Cheese board, fish, and spicy food.
Cellar It
The 2018 Coquena drinks well now but has a cellaring potential of 2 years.
